- The act of forgiveness is a profoundly spiritual act, essential if the mind is to be free.
- On Rosh Hashanah we are called upon to forgive — those who have harmed us, those we have harmed, and last but not least, ourselves.
- If we are successful in our task, we will be free to embrace the New Year, free of the baggage of the past, enabled to live each moment fully, joyously.
- Forgiveness however, as we all know, is very hard.
Yet, there is a very practical way to access and enable forgiveness — through the practice of compassion. For when we practice compassion, forgiveness arises naturally as a by-product.
In this one hour experiential gathering, Shulamit will personally introduce us to SoundPrayerTM Meditation as a powerful tool to instill compassion and enable the experience of self-acceptance and forgiveness that the compassion practice brings.
SoundPrayer Meditation is based on teachings in the Tikkuney Zohar, and the writings of Rabbi Joseph Gikatilla, as well as the work of Abraham Abulafia in 13th century literature. The 10 basic vocal sounds employed in SoundPrayer Meditation are each related to specific passages in Torah. Each have a specific vibrational characteristic that draws on the power of 10 distinct emanations (Sefirot) which correspond to locations on the human body. The power of these vocal sounds can be drawn upon to help us in many ways.
Each individual uses his or her own voice (no musical talent required) and directs that voice with intention to the appropriate energy center of the body.
You are invited to participate in SoundPrayer and benefit from the experience of an abundant, compassionate reality that embraces, sustains and strengthens, bringing optimism and joy, solidifying relationships, and engaging us in community.
